July 2001: Lingway is created by a team of 13 specialists from the French-U.S. company Lexiquest, a leading developer of language-based search solutions. The team has over 25 years of experience in linguistic engineering, acquired in large part through the R&D projects first launched in 1977 by Bernard Normier – Lingway’s current CEO – at the company ERLI (Etudes et Recherches en Linguistique et Informatique), later known as GSI-Erli. GSI-Erli was acquired by a group of investors in 1997. June 2002: Lingway is an active participant in the Crossmark project, financed by the European IST program, to develop a software solution for comparison shopping on the Internet.
February 2003: Lingway signs a technology and business partnership agreement with Umamis for search applications in the field of clinical research.
June 2003: Lingway participates in two linguistic engineering R&D projects within the framework of Technolangue Program. November 2003: Questel•Orbit signs an exclusive agreement with Lingway to enhance the full text reading of patents. March 2004: Release of the first product and the first version of Lingway KM at the Documation Show.
September 2004: Questel-Orbit, a world leader in intellectual property information (patents and trademarks), acquires a minority share in Lingway. May 2005: Lingway signs a partnership agreement with Systran to build multilingual terminologies.
September 2005: Lingway signs its first Lingway KM technology partnership agreement with Ever Team. October 2005: Lingway is named Young High Tech company of the year for its innovative technology. February 2006: Lingway signs a technology partnership agreement with Exalead. July 2006: Lingway joins the Cap Digital Competitive Cluster. September 2006: Lingway acquires e manation, a Nantes-based company specialized in the automated processing of resume flows in order to consolidate its position in the area of e-Recruitment. At the same time, the French company iXcore acquires a minority share in Lingway. January 2007: Lingway moves to its new headquarters in the southeast Paris suburb of Kremlin Bicêtre. |
